New England Insider: Top Uncommitted Class of 2019 Right-Handed Pitchers
Andrew Ruggiero RHP / Providence Country Day, RI / 2019Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 6
Scouting Report:6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher. On the mound, the potential is outstanding. The fastball touched 86 mph, true and downhill to the plate. The breaking ball is legit, 74 mph and has plus depth to it. The changeup is coming along nicely, 77 mph. The delivery is repeated and athletic, small forward lean as he makes his way into foot strike. The slot is above ¾ and works very well, effort in the delivery. Defensively, threw 83 mph across the diamond, the footwork through the ball is athletic and quick-twitch. The bat has a tee exit velocity 89 mph. The stance is even with his feet, the bat path is simple and clean to the ball. Chance to hit, and he is a plus runner. Big time 2-way prospect for me, relatively unknown by most.
