2022 NPI: 16U Mid-Atlantic Notebook

The summer has kicked off at the nation’s top baseball venue for amateur athletes. LakePoint is hosting the PBR National Program Invitational (NPI). Thursday saw day 1 action across the 15U, 16U, and 17U events. Pool play opens the event with an eventual champion named through bracket play.
Below we take a look at the action from day 1 with players and teams from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Day 1 Notebook: 16U
USA Prime Coastal opened their week with a win over the Georgia Bombers Marucci, 8-5. Tony Lopez (2024, High Point Christian Academy, NC) worked 4 innings, sitting 77-84, punching 3 and walking 6. Gavin Maines (2024, Forbush HS, NC) was up to 82 in his 2.2 innings of work. Jordan Wright (2024, Rocky Mount HS, NC), Blaize Johnson (2024, Northwest Guilford HS, NC), Cameryn Wilson (2024, Mt. Airy HS, NC), and Myles Draughn (2024, North Surry HS, NC) each had 2 hits in the game. Wilson and Draughn led the way with 2 RBIs as well.
