Prep Baseball Report

The end of July means that the country is getting ready to turn its attention to LakePoint in Emerson, GA for the country's biggest underclass event, the PBR Future Games.  Featuring 400+ uncommitted players from across the country, representing their state or region, with every workout and game played at one 4 field diamond at LakePoint.

Team Carolina will again represent both North Carolina and South Carolina at the 2023 event.  Today we are unveiling the roster for Team Carolina with a brief breakdown of the roster make-up, plus a look at the path Team Carolina will take in Georgia.

Last year Team Carolina went 3-0 while also creating a ton of buzz off of the workout day.  With another big turnout of 400+ college coaches and scouts anticipated for 2023, Team Carolina is set and ready to be the talk of the event again.

5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with athleticism. His defensive ability stands out. Moves well on the dirt with fluid actions and confidence in his hands. Plays with bounce and the energy and passion to his game has been easy to notice at various PBR Events. A natural right hand hitter, Martinez has begun to switch hit over the last year. Compact swing with quick hands, line drive approach from the right side with the ability to use the whole field. The left hand swing shows promise and should be something he can continue to do moving forward. He has played well this summer and should be exciting to see what he does with Team Carolina this week.

Xavier Mccoury SS / 2B / Providence, NC / 2025

5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with room to add strength. The left hand hitting infielder impressed at the Preseason All State South event earlier this year. Fluid, connected swing with his barrel staying long through the zone and the ability to line the ball to all parts of the field. The swing is loose with quickness. Athletic defender with trust in his hands and enough arm strength to play on the left side. Put together a good season at the plate for Providence while showing the ability to be versatile on the defensive side of the ball. Overall, an athletic left hand hitting infielder who should be fun to watch with Team Carolina this week.

Will Craddock SS / 3B / TL Hanna , SC / 2025

Long lean athletic frame at 6-4 195.  Very projectable frame with present strength and room to add on.  Smooth defender with very good footwork and hands to go along with good range to his left and right.  Really shows the ability to stick on the ,eft side of the infield.  As the high school season and summer has gone on the bat has continued to improve.  Has really shown the ability to drive the ball with power along with his bat to ball skills.

170 pound, 6-0, broad-shouldered build with lots of projection.  A line drive with a gap to gap approach has a good flat path through the ball.  Demonstrated a strong arm in the field with good ball carry and the capacity to play all over the field.  Very versital and athletic player that can do multiple things on the baseball field at a high level.  Continues to improve his game each time out while showing the ability to really handle the bat.
