USA Prime Scout Day: Position Player Quick Hitters

On Wednesday September 28th PBR of South Carolina was on hand at Flour Field for a scout day with USA Prime. The scout day featured players from the 2023-2027 grad classes.
The evening started with catchers going through a defensive evaluation then pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting data analytics. After the bullpens position players ran a laser timed 60 followed by BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data. After BP outfielders and infielders went through a defensive evaluation.

Quick Hitters - Position Players
5-11 188 pound strong frame. Hits from a wider stance and uses a toe tap to load and stride. Has an aggressive approach looking to do damage with each swing in BP. Showed power to the pull side with hard contact with a max exit velo of 95.5 mph and a max distance of 379 feet.
5-11 178 pound frame with strength. Hits from a balanced upright stance with loose hands. Uses a small stride to land in a good hitting position. Showed an aggressive approach with a good path through the zone while showing some power with the bat. Max exit velo of 95.3 mph with a max distance of 367 feet. Defensively showed off good footwork through the ball while fielding the ball out front.
6-0 175 pound lean athletic frame. Hits from a balanced simple setup and uses a small stride and lift. Has a flat path through the zone with extension out in front. Max exit velo of 95.1 mph and a max distance of 351 feet. In the outfield showed off a strong arm with accuracy up to 89 mph.
6-0 172 pound frame with present strength and room to add on. Hits from a balanced even setup with bend in his knees. Has a small lift and stride to a balanced hitting position. Short swing through the zone with an uphill finish creating natural loft in ball flight. Poolside power in BP up to 93.1 mph and a max distance of 354 feet. Behind the plate showed off a clean exchange and good footwork while showing good arm strength.
6-0 174 pound frame. Hits from an open and upright stance. Has a medium leg lift and stride to get back to a balanced position. Showed a flat path through the zone with good extension outfront and a one handed finish. Aggressive pull side approach in BP with a max exit velo of 92.7 mph and a max distance of 341 feet.
6-0 180 pound lean frame with room to add on. Hits from a wider, slightly open stance and uses a small lift and stride to get to balance. Short flat swing through the zone with a slightly uphill finish out front. Showed consistent contact with a max exit velo of 92.4 mph with a max distance of 342 feet. Showed a good arm from the outfield with a max velo of 85 mph.
6-2 190 strong athletic frame. Hits from a simple balanced stance with a small lift into a longer stride. Short compact swing through zone with good extension out front. Showed off a good middle of the field approach with a max exit velo of 92.2 mph and a max distance of 341 feet.
6-0 165 pound lean athletic frame. Hits from a wide stance with good balance and a very small stride. Shows good bat speed through the zone with an aggressive approach while making consistent hard contact. Has a max exit velo of 91.9 mph and a max distance 343 feet. In the outfield showed good arm strength with accurate throws with a max velo of 79 mph.
5-9 147 pound frame. Hits from a balanced upright stance, uses a small lift with a controlled load and a medium stride. Has a clean path through the zone with a short stroke, while showing a good line drive approach. A max exit velo up to 88.8 mph and a max distance of 298 feet.
5-9 150 pound lean frame with room to grow. Hits from a wider, slightly open stance with a small lift and stride back to balance. Has a flat stroke through the zone with a line drive approach while using the whole field in BP. Has a max exit velo of 88.7 mph and a mx distance of 327 feet.
5-6 148 pound frame. Hits from a relaxed upright and slightly opened stance. Uses a toe tap to get loaded up to a good balanced hitting position. Showed good bat speed with a compact stroke through the zone. A good flat swing with a line drive approach while staying in the middle of the field. A max exit velo up to 87.9 mph and a max distance of 306 feet.
5-8 160 pound athletic frame. Hits from a wider stance with a controlled toe tap to get loaded up. A short flat swing through the zone with a big finish out front and a one handed finish. Had a max exit velo of 87.3 mph with a max distance of 334 feet. Good athleticism on the field and accurate throws from the outfield.
