Diamond Notes is a weekly compilation of notes on South Carolina players from last week.  Each week Coaches from across the state send in player notes and stats as the Prep Baseball staff is working to name a PB Player of the Week.  Prep Baseball scouts are also compiling player notes from attended games, as well as box scores from across the state.

Below we take a look at some of the top performers from the second week of the high school season. The SC Pitcher of the Week was Hunter Doyle from Lucy Beckham. Kason Herlong from Lake City High School earned Player of the Week Honors.

+ pitched complete game shutout against BHP in the Region Championship game. Offense gave him no run support until the bottom of the 6th. 
+ 50 inning, 4-1 record, 1/1 saves, 22BB/39K, 3.08 ERA, .261 BAA 

Eli Hudgins, SS/DH, Powdersville, 2024

+ 6/7 (.857), 1 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R, 
+ Big week against BHP, multi hit games in both to help win Region Championship 
+ Been hurt most of the year, but: 10/22 (.455), 2 2B, 1 3B, 7 RBI, 4 R, 3BB/1K, 2/2 SB 

Zechariah Haney, C / RHP, Camden High School, 2025

+ He was 5-9 in 3 games with 2 singles, 1 double, and 2 triples with 5 RBI's.  He also had 2 pitching appearances w/ 3 IP and 0 runs allowed w/ 5 strikeouts.
+ Was 4-4 w/ 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 2 RBI's in an 8-0 victory over Wilson Hall. 
+ He is now batting .333 w/ 11 singles, 7 doubles, 5 triples, 1 HR and 21 RBI for the season.  His pitching stats are: 17.2 IP, 25 K, .40 ERA and 3 saves.
