2023 PBR TN Player of the Year: Dylan Loy

After a strong 2023 high school baseball season, Prep Baseball Report has announced its Player of the Year in each state. This year, the honor goes to LHP/1B Dylan Loy, a Tennessee signee and a top player in the 2023 TN Class.

 

2023 PBR tennessee PLAYER OF THE YEAR

 

LHP/1B Dylan Loy (Pigeon Forge, 2023) is the 2023 PBR Tennessee Player of the Year, the Tennessee signee had a stellar 2023 campaign both at the plate and on the mound for Pigeon Forge. Offensively, Loy hit for a .549 average, had a total of 13 doubles, scoring 35 runs and collecting 35 RBI's. On the mound, he recorded a 11-1 record and posted a 0.10 ERA in 71.1 innings of work. Allowed just 23 hits, 11 walks and tallied a total of 169 strikeouts throughout his senior campaign. It was another impressive season for Dylan Loy, who has his his eyes set on Knoxville this upcoming fall.

Tennessee commit showed off his arm strength and advanced feel, striking out 2 of the 3 hitters he faced in a clean inning.  6’1, 160-pound lefty features a medium, athletic frame, high-waisted w/ some present lower half strength, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Pitches from a full wind-up into a ¾ to L ¾ release.  Quick arm.  Simple, repeatable delivery, ball jumps out of his hand.  Angle.  FB shows short arm-side run.  CB is a put-away pitch, tight late breaking medium downer.  Some feel to manipulate break, show more of a sweeping action w/ 2-plane break.  CH w/ arm-speed, short fade and sink.  Pounded the zone, 13 of 18 for strikes, projects to command.  Generated 4 swing and misses on 10 swings.
