MURFREESBORO, TN — The Murfreesboro Summer ID & Rising Stars ID was held at Riverdale HS on Wednesday, July 1 that featured top talent from the 2027-2031 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout with TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance tech, while pitchers threw in a bullpen setting and were able to get data and metrics on our TrackMan unit.

Some prospects built on past showings, while others made strong first impressions.

He produced an 86.2 mph average exit velocity and 95.0 mph max exit velocity, while driving the ball a maximum distance of 287 feet, indicating solid present power with room for continued development. Kilby also recorded 44% hard-hit contact and 56% sweet-spot contact, reflecting an efficient, repeatable swing that consistently finds the barrel. Defensively, he posted an 80 mph throwing velocity, adding another indicator of her overall athleticism and arm strength. Overall, Kilby's metrics point to a strong, physical prospect with a balanced offensive profile and tools that project well as she continues to develop.

Nathan Lunger 1B / RHP / Hendersonville, TN / 2029

Nathan Lunger: The rising sophomore put together an impressive offensive performance, showing a physical right-handed bat with advanced power potential. He recorded an 85.9 mph average exit velocity and 96.0 mph max exit velocity, while producing a standout 375-foot maximum batted-ball distance. Lunger also generated a 64% hard-hit rate and an outstanding 86% sweet-spot rate, highlighting the consistency of his barrel accuracy and quality of contact. Athletically, he ran a 7.43-second 60-yard dash and posted a 78 mph throwing velocity, giving him solid overall athleticism for his 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame. Overall, Lunger's combination of strength, impact contact, and consistent barrel production makes him an intriguing power-oriented prospect in the 2029 class.

Waylon Fowler OF / RHP / Cookeville, TN / 2028

Waylon Fowler: The Cookeville native showcased a strong blend of athleticism and bat speed during his workout. He posted an 87.1 mph average exit velocity with a 94.0 mph max exit velocity, while driving the ball 321 feet, demonstrating solid present strength and consistent impact off the barrel. Fowler also recorded an impressive 75% line-drive rate, reflecting a mature swing path that produces hard, efficient contact. Athletically, he ran a 7.32-second 60-yard dash, and his 78 mph throwing velocity complements his overall profile. At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Fowler projects as a physical 2028 prospect with a line-drive approach, quality bat-to-ball skills, and the strength to continue developing into more game power.

Case Davis 1B / LHP / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2027

Case Davis: The rising senior displayed an impressive left-handed offensive profile built around developing strength and consistent quality contact. He recorded an 83.6 mph average exit velocity with a 94.0 mph max exit velocity, while producing a 344-foot maximum batted-ball distance, showing the ability to drive the baseball with authority. Davis posted a 57% hard-hit rate and an outstanding 86% sweet-spot rate, highlighting his ability to consistently square the ball up and create impactful contact. Defensively, he showed a strong 87 mph throwing velocity, adding value with above-average arm strength. At 5-foot-11, 205 pounds, Davis has a physical frame and projects as a power-oriented left-handed hitter whose combination of barrel consistency and arm strength stands out in the 2027 class.

Tyler Auth OF / Lebanon, TN / 2029

Tyler Auth: The rising sophomore product put together a well-rounded showing, highlighting an athletic skill set that should continue to trend upward as he develops. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound outfielder posted a 6.95 sixty while showing good instincts and efficient routes in the outfield, allowing his athleticism to play defensively. At the plate, Auth worked from a balanced setup with a medium leg kick and high hand position, creating quality rhythm into the swing. He produced a 98 mph max exit velocity, consistently flashing strength off the barrel with the ability to drive the baseball. As his offensive approach continues to mature, Auth has the athletic foundation and physical tools to draw increased attention from college programs over the next year.

Max Stone SS / 2B / Ravenwood, TN / 2029

Max Stone: Stone showcased an athletic, fundamentally sound skill set with plenty of room for continued development in Tennessee’s 2029 class. The 5’10, 170-pound infielder moved well throughout the event, posting a 7.25 sixty while displaying smooth defensive actions and an 84 mph infield arm that projects well as he matures. At the plate, Stone worked from a slightly open stance with a small stride, pairing it with quick hands that allowed him to consistently get the barrel through the zone. His 87 mph max exit velocity reflects present bat speed with additional offensive upside still to come. Combining athleticism, defensive reliability, and a projectable frame, Stone is an underclass prospect who should continue to trend upward over the next several years.

Brayden Melton SS / RHP / Silverdale Baptist Academy, TN / 2028

Brayden Melton: The Silverdale Baptist product is an intriguing young infielder whose long, athletic frame offers plenty of projection as he continues to mature. The 6’2, 165-pound Silverdale Baptist product turned in a 7.03 sixty and showcased fluid defensive actions with an 87 mph infield arm, covering ground with long, effortless strides. Offensively, Melton hits from a controlled setup featuring a small vertical leg kick before driving aggressively through the baseball. His swing produced a 92 mph max exit velocity while flashing present bat speed and the ability to impact the ball to all fields. With his combination of size, athleticism, and offensive projection, Melton is a 2028 prospect whose ceiling should continue to rise with added strength and experience.

Asher Evans SS / RHP / Oakland, TN / 2027

Asher Evans: The Oakland rising senior was one of the more complete two-way prospects at the event. Evans showcased athleticism with a 7.01-second 60 while producing consistent impact at the plate, averaging 89.8 mph off the bat with a peak exit velocity of 98 mph. Defensively, he displayed confident infield actions, soft hands, and above-average arm strength, topping out at 93 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the right-hander worked comfortably at 87-88 mph with the fastball and complemented it with a quality slider at 76-78 mph that generated 2,305-2,348 rpm. Mixed in an 81-82 mph changeup to round out a three-pitch mix. Athletic two-way player with present tools on both sides of the ball and continued upside.

Carter Flee OF / RHP / Christian Brothers, TN / 2029

Carter Flee: Flee is an athletic young prospect who impressed with his speed, posting a 6.82-second 60-yard dash. Showed developing offensive tools with a 76.9 mph average exit velocity and a 91 mph peak, creating solid contact throughout batting practice. Defensively, demonstrated good athleticism in the outfield with an 85 mph throwing arm capable of making accurate throws. On the mound, Flee sat 83 mph with the fastball while mixing a 71-78 mph slider and a 74-77 mph changeup. High-level athlete with projectable two-way ability as he continues to add strength and physical maturity. The body is long with length in the arms and lower half that should continue to add quality weight to the frame over the next few years. 

Brody Gaw RHP / Cookeville High School, TN / 2029

Brody Gaw: Projectable right-handed pitcher with a clean operation and a four-pitch arsenal. Fastball worked consistently at 84-85 mph while touching 86, showing the ability to attack the strike zone. Mixed both a 72 mph curveball and a 71-72 mph slider, giving hitters two distinct breaking-ball looks, while his 77-78 mph changeup rounded out the arsenal. Young arm with feel for multiple pitches and room to continue adding velocity as he develops physically.

Mattias Goodhart 1B / LHP / Riverdale, TN / 2029

Mattias Goodhart: The rising sophomore Riverdale product is another left-handed arm with intriguing upside and quality spin characteristics. Fastball sat 83-84 mph, while his slider proved to be the standout secondary offering at 74-77 mph, generating an impressive 2,227-2,298 rpm. Also mixed a 76-77 mph changeup to keep hitters off balance. Shows the foundation of a solid three-pitch mix, with the breaking ball offering present swing-and-miss potential as he continues to mature.

Maddux Hasty LHP / 1B / Silverdale Baptist, TN / 2027

Maddux Hasty: The former Prep Baseball Future Games participant is a promising left-hander featuring one of the better breaking-ball combinations at the event. Fastball sat 82-83 mph, but both his curveball (71-72 mph, 2,394-2,466 rpm) and slider (73-78 mph, 2,331-2,410 rpm) showed good spin rates and the ability to generate quality movement. Added a 74-76 mph changeup to complete a four-pitch mix. Displays feel for spinning multiple breaking balls with a competitive presence on the mound, giving him intriguing projection as he continues to develop.
