LUKE MURPHY / RHP / EAST ROBERTSON, TN / 2018FB (85-89, T90), CB (74-75), CH (79) - 2 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 5 K A Vanderbilt commit, Murphy showed impactful stuff when he was in the strike zone. Tall, athletic, projectable frame w/ rounded shoulders, some present lower half strength. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Throws across his body w/ quick arm. Deceptive, hides the ball well w/ extension to the plate. Straight FB shows occasional short arm side. Medium downer CB flashed late bite when he stayed on top of it. Spiked the CH he threw. Delivery struggles really impacted ability to find the strike zone, get on top of his curveball. Consistently missed up and to his arm-side, as arm struggled to catch up to lower half. Projects to control. Generated 9 swing and misses on 16 swings. |
