Fall Prospect Notes: Texas

Texas couldn’t have been more dialed in this fall, and that could be bad news for opposing teams in a few months.

The Longhorns are coming off quite a memorable 2021 campaign. David Pierce’s club put together an impressive mark in the Big 12 Conference and were a national seed on the way to making yet another College World Series appearance. Once there, the ‘Horns were just a win over Mississippi State — the eventual national champion — away from playing for the program’s seventh national title.

Sure, getting to the CWS and the national semifinals was an accomplishment for this team. But the standard in this program is playing and winning national titles, so Texas still feels like it has some unfinished business to take care of the ’22 campaign nears.

Though it would be difficult for many teams to replicate the success UT had last season, it may not be hard for this team to accomplish that goal. Why, you ask? In essence, the Longhorns are loaded and are a team, that frankly, doesn’t have a hole as of right now...
