On Wednesday, we head to Dugan Field, the home of the Lipscomb University Bisons, for a tilt between Brentwood Academy and Lipscomb Academy.  As typically happens on college fields, both teams elevated their games and the result was a well-played game culminating in a 3-1 win for Brentwood Academy in 12 innings.  Both catchers had a hand in keeping this game scoreless until the 12th, as both stood out for their ability to box the baseball and limit base advancement.  Read up on a standouts below:

Brentwood Academy

FB (83-87, T89), CB (74-77), CH (74-77)

-          8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K

-          2-5

Mississippi State commit had a big day, pounding the zone and touching 89 in the 2ndinning, when he pitched 85-87.  Medium, athletic frame w/ high-waist, well-proportioned lean strength throughout, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to L ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber.  Simple, repeatable delivery.  Super quick, loose arm.  Angle.  Easy velocity.  FB shows consistent arm side run.  Held 85-87 velocity through 6 innings before pitching closer to 82-84, touching 85 in the 7th and 8th.  Tight medium downer CB w/ depth.  Occasional slurve.  Put-away pitch.  CH w/ arm-speed, short fade and sink.  Flashed above average.  Pounded the zone early, began to lose pitches to his arm-side as he got deeper into his outing.  Strike-thrower with his 3-pitch mix, projects to command as body continues to fill out.  Generated 18 swing and misses on 51 swings (35 %).  Offensively, showed a gap to gap approach w/ lot of line drives and athleticism to run a 4.44 down the line from the left side.
