At 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, Soddy Daisy 2016 OF Trevyne Carter passes the eye test with an athletic frame, and he put on a show at last weekend’s Preseason All-State Showcase showing the combination of foot speed, arm strength, and bat speed that projects well at the next level.

Carter began his day by running an event best 6.56 60-yard dash, but that was just the start of his impressive performance.

During defensive drills, Carter showed soft hands to go along with quick and natural instincts. He showed good arm strength with a position velocity of 88 mph and displayed good athletic ability. His speed and athleticism will certainly allow him to be a guy that can play all three outfield spots at the college level.

Offensively, the left-handed hitter showed fast bat speed with an exit velocity off the tee of 93 mph. He is currently a gap to gap type hitter but also showed that he likes to pull the ball as well. Carter has future power potential as he continues to grow and get stronger. He shows an aggressive approach and the plate, and the multi-sport athlete has big potential as he continues to grow offensively.
