Preseason ID Standouts

PBR Staff

Through the winter, several states hosted Preseason ID events to serve as identifiers heading into the spring high school season, giving our scouts, as well as college recruiters, a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. Many players stood out at these showcases and state directors have submitted a few names in the list below. You can also find leaders in various stats and metrics across all of the events with our Preseason ID Leaderboards.

Jonathan Adelmann, RHP, Lenape HS, NJ (2023)
Lanky and athletic at 6-foot-7, 220 pounds, Adelmann still has some room to grow into his frame. At the Northern New Jersey Preseason ID, he topped out at 88 mph with more in the tank, sitting mostly 86-88. He ripped off some sliders with high spin (2506 rpm max) and -15 inches of horizontal movement, as well as a chanceup at 81-84. He has compact, repeatable mechanics and some whip to his arm action.
