TN 11-AAA District Tourney Report: Ravenwood

We covered the 11-AAA District Tournament, sitting at Brentwood for the majority of the event.  Due to weather throughout the week, some games were moved off site.  We will dive into individual team looks as part of our district tournament recap.  Stats are based on the games we saw.

Ravenwood

5/4/18 – Ravenwood – 12, Spring Hill – 1

5/5/18 – Ravenwood – 4, Centennial - 3

5/8/18 – Brentwood – 5, Ravenwood - 4

5/9/18 – Ravenwood – 8, Independence – 7

5/10/18 – Brentwood – 6, Ravenwood – 4

ZANE DENTON / 3B / 1B / RAVENWOOD, TN / 2019

3-14, 5 BB

Alabama commit showed advanced approach, bat speed from both sides of the plate.  Medium athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, projectable.  Prototypical corner IF frame.  Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ very short hand rhythm into toe tap and proper load.  From the right side, utilizes a leg kick.  Generates premium bat speed through the zone w/ natural loft, proper path.  Balanced w/ ability to use all fields.  Power to all fields.  Just missed a couple pitches throughout the tournament.  Projects to hit for average and power.  Advanced approach w/ spin recognition, understands his strike zone.  Defensively, moves well at 3B w/ arm strength w/ carry to target.
