TN: 5 Star Scout Day Pitchers

Tim Kay
PBR Tennessee Director of Scouting

On October 21st, Cumberland hosted a Scout Day for the 5 Star organization.  This event included a position player workout, followed by pitchers throwing a 10-15 pitch pen on the game mound. Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff. Due to rain, the position player portion was filmed on the side field next to the baseball field and all the hitting occurred indoors.  The following is a look at every pitcher that attended the event!

Max FB: 80, FB (76-79), CB (67-71), CH (70-71)

6-3, 175-pound lefty touched 80 on his final pitch of the pen while mixing in a tight slurve.  Tall, athletic lanky build w/ well-proportioned lean strength, super projectable.  Prototypical pitcher frame.  Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Angle w/ clean, quick arm.  Low effort throw.  Occasional downhill angle.  Straight FB w/ occasional short arm-side run.  CB is a tight slurve w/ proper shape, has a chance to put away L on L hitters.  CH w/ occasional arm-speed, fade and sink.  Around the zone w/ 3-pitch mix.
