It's time for the postseason push for the 2021 Tennessee HS season, as D2-A/AA head into the quarter finals this week and A-AAA start with region semifinals tonight. The power rankings have taken quite the turn since our last publication as 7 of the 25 teams have been eliminated from postseason play. Furthermore, there are seven fresh faces on the Power Rankings as it will be very fluid the rest of the way as teams that are eliminated will be removed from the ranks. As we've done with D2-A/AA, eliminated teams will start popping back up as the final number of active teams will continue to dwindle as 105 programs from all classes are still active heading into today. Dive in below as we recap some previous results and look ahead in the postseason landscape.

AAA: Recap + Preview

Seven of the top ten clubs took care of business to win their district tournaments and rights to host the Region Semifinals tonight. Houston, Collierville, Hardin County, and Brighton already played and advanced to the region championship as those four clubs will match up in sub state this weekend, thus leaving 28 clubs still active.

Big Time Matchups:

#8 Hardin Valley at #5 Powell
Powell has been cruising putting together a 28-3 record, and Hardin Valley has went toe to toe with #1 Farragut multiple times. Both clubs can pitch and also swing it top to bottom should be a high stakes matchup in Knoxville.

#9 Mt. Juliet at #4 Clarksville
Clarksville hasn't dropped a game in over a month and Mt. Juliet had to climb out of the 9AAA losers bracket to keep their season alive before dropping the final to Beech.  These two clubs met a few weeks ago with Clarksville winning a decisive 8-1 game, but both teams will have their aces on the bump and the seasons on the line.

#11 Ravenwood at #15 Overton
Overton HS hasn't advanced past the region semifinals in quite some time, but the Bobcats whipped up a perfect district season and will draw the 11-AAA regular season champs in Ravenwood.  Ravenwood surged through the regular season, but went two and out during the district tournament. The Raptors haven't played in over a week, which should allow them to correct some things and have a fresh stable of arms to matchup against the Bobcats.

#12 Stewarts Creek at #16 Lincoln County
The game I plan to attend tonight as Stewarts Creek knocked off regular season champ Riverdale in the district tourney and Lincoln Co posted a perfect tourney run through 8-AAA.  Both have skilled arms that have good stuff and can pick up strikeouts in bunches, while Stewarts Creek has a deep veteran lineup and the Lincoln has been outstanding defensively recently. They'll meet on the turf under the bright lights in Fayetteville as a clash of differing styles converge.

AA: Recap + Preview

Eight of the top ten AA teams won their district tourney and will host tonight for Region Semifinals. Pigeon Forge reclaims the top spot after an impressive run through the district tourney.  32 teams will battle it out tonight, and 16 teams will walk away with more baseball in front of them.

Big Time Matchups:

#6 Gibbs at #9 Alcoa
Gibbs claimed the regular season district title but top seeded Pigeon Forge got back on track thus sending the Eagles on the road to take on the Tornadoes.  These clubs matched up just over a month ago as Gibbs won 12-2, and they'll look to run it back as the loser will go home.

#12 Signal Mountain at #7 Loudon
Loudon has some skilled arms that lead them to a state tournament appearance in 2019, including a region championship victory over Signal Mountain. The Eagles have been a postseason staple with multiple sub state appearances, but look to make a run a state for first time since 2017. Two clubs that played well throughout the regular season, but something has got to give.

#10 Westview at #15 Scotts Hill
Scotts Hill swept through the district tourney after finishing second in the regular season  and Westview had to battle it out in a tough 13-AA. South Gibson took down Westview twice in the tourney, so they'll make the trip to Scotts Hill, which should be a tight one out West.

A: Recap + Preview

Eight of the top ten teams will host for the single A region semifinals as 29 teams are still in the mix for the Spring Fling.  Some shifting among the top ten, as North Greene takes the top spot overall and some fresh faces jump into the action.

Big Time Matchups:

#15 University School-JC at #19 Greenback
Greenback has been in a "rebuild" since winning the state title in 2019, but this group has just continued to find ways to win, sweeping the district slate.  University High has struggled with North Greene all year, and finds themselves meeting up with Greenback a game sooner than usual. These two programs have been staples at the Spring Fling the past few years, but tonight one of their seasons will end pre-maturely.

#10 Coalfield at #6 Sale Creek
Both teams won the regular season district titles, but Coalfield slipped up on Oneida in the tourney championship, so they'll head to Sale Creek for the lone top-10 matchup during the Semis.  Both teams have posted strong resumes with balance of offense and quality pitching, so it should be a tight contest tonight.

#5 Summertown at #19 Huntingdon
These programs are quite familiar with each other splitting a pair of region semifinals matchups in '18 and '19, so tonight will be the tie breaker between the two.  Summertown was dominant in the regular season but fell to rival Loretto in the tourney. Huntingdon got off to a rough start, but have pulled it together playing good ball down the stretch.

D2-A: Recap + Preview

The State XII round of the D2-A tourney lived up to the hype as we saw two one run ball games coming down to the wire, an offensive slugfest, and the CA Bulldogs roll into the quarterfinals.  East #2 Webb of Knoxville was down late to Middle #4 Clarksville Academy, but the Spartans found a way late to comeback and extend their season with a 5-4 dub on Saturday.  Middle #3 Grace Christian went on the road to East #3 Silverdale Baptist and put on an offensively clinic striking for 8 runs in the first. Silverdale would try to crawl back into it with their own offensive surge, but Grace would add 5 runs in the 7th to win it by a final of 16-7 and eyes on another road matchup this week.  The biggest surprise had to be East #4 The King's Academy meeting up with West #3 Trinity Christian at neutral location of CPA. Trinity got off to a sluggish start surrendering two runs in the first, but would cut it to 2-1 for most of the game. Tip of the cap to RHP Nahzir Bergen on the CG performance and the TKA defense for making some big plays down the stretch to knock off a talented Trinity Christian club.  On Saturday Night, we caught the West #4 ECS visiting Middle #2 Columbia Academy, and Jr. RHP Bryant Beranek dominated from start to finish, tossing a one-run CG and also hitting a 3-run homer in the 3rd frame that put the Bulldogs up for good.  The 8-1 win sets up a big time matchup this week with top ranked CAK in Knoxville. This week, there will be three game series to determine who will advanced to the Final Four and punch their ticket to Murfreesboro:
