TN Underclass Games - Pitchers

Tim Kay
PBR Tennessee Director of Scouting

The 2018 Underclass Games took place on Tuesday, July 3rd at Rose Park, the home of the Belmont Bruins.  We got the entire showcase in, 10 innings of game 1 and 8 innings of game 2 before the rain hit and washed out the remainder of the day.  Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at every pitcher at the event:

Max FB: 84, FB: 80-83, CB: 67-71, CH: 76
6-foot-2, 185-pound, RHP built on his bullpen from the East TN event with a couple of extra ticks of velocity.  Medium, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, super projectable.  Has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Super quick arm w/ some effort in the throw.  Glove side can be stronger, is just along for the ride.  Has an idea of how to use his lower half to generate arm-speed.  FB shows occasional short arm-side run.  Medium downer CB w/ proper shape, rotation, flashes above average depth.  Worked best as a pitch to steal strikes on this day.  CH w/ arm-speed, short fade and sink.  Around the zone w/ his 3-pitch mix, projects to command.
