The Hotlist: Top Position Players Coming To The Future Games

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

We’re one week out from the 2017 Prep Baseball Report Future Games, which will bring more than 400 rising juniors and sophomores to Grand Park in Westfield, IN, to play in front of hundreds of college coaches. To preview the event, we’re looking at some of the top players that will be in attendance. Last week, we covered the top pitchers. This week, The Hotlist highlights the top position players coming to the Future Games.

Derek Crum, OF/LHP, Gaither HS, FL (2019)
Crum stands at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds and has a strong arm from the outfield, hitting 88 mph with carry. He runs a 6.98-second 60-yard dash and employs a short, quick swing while getting good use out of his lower half.

Zane Denton, 3B, Ravenwood HS, TN (2019)
One of the few 2019 graduates that participated in the 2016 Future Games with Team Tennessee, Denton brings a lot to the table. He has tremendous upside at the plate, able to hit for both average and some power. His current gap-to-gap approach should develop into some exceptional power by the time his high school career is over. Even at 6 feet, 180 pounds, Denton has room to grow and comes from a great gene pool, as his older brother, Bryce, was a Vanderbilt recruit and second-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 MLB Draft.
