Unsigned Senior Games: Team White Corner Infielders

The PBR Tennessee Unsigned Senior Games took place on October 11 at Vol State and afforded uncommitted seniors from around the state the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a combination showcase/game play event.

The following is a look at the Team White corner infielders who participated in the event. This is position player analysis only. Those players who also participated as a pitcher at the event will have their pitching performance featured in a subsequent article.

Michael Pope, 2016, Nashville Christian, 3B
The 6 foot 2, 165-pound prospect posted a 7.06 60 time and had a 74 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively Pope shows loose arm action, accuracy on throws, average arm strength, average hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, natural instincts with solid corner actions. Pope shows good overall athletic ability for his position. Offensively Pope has average bat speed from the right side and had an 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. He hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, has good overall balance, has an aggressive approach, level swing but needs to get on top of the ball more at times, has a fluid rhythm and is a line drive type hitter. Pope needs to improve on overall strength and you will see his game improve tremendously. He went 1-for-4 during game play.

Trevor Roof, 2016, McKenzie, 1B
The 6 foot 1, 210-pound prospect posted an 8.00 60 time and had a 68 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively Roof shows average arm strenth, accuracy on throws, soft hands, and above average footwork around the bag. Offensively Roof has average bat speed from the left side and had a 74 mph exit velocity off the tee. Roof hits from an open setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, has good balance, showed good patience at the plate, level swing with line drive approach. Roof went 0-for-3 during game play.

Bradley Grubb, 2016, Rockwood, 1B
The 6 foot 3, 220-pound prospect posted a 7.72 60 time and had a 68 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively Grubb shows average arm strength, some accuracy, average hands, average footwork around the bag. Offensively Grubb has average bat speed from the right side and had a 74 mph exit velocity off the tee. Grubb hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, shows good overall balance, stiff rhythm, level path with an opposite field approach. Grubb went 0 for 3 during game play.
