Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Fulton OF Hal Bishop

By Matt Byrd
TN Director of Scouting

Fulton High School in Knoxville is usually well known in Tennessee for being a football powerhouse, but Fulton might surprise you with the talent they have in their baseball program as well. First year Head Coach Ryan Gentry thinks he has a senior that college baseball programs need to know about as we head towards spring.

Hal Bishop  is a 6-foot , 200-pound outfielder who throws and hits from the right side.  He has played a big part in the success of the Fulton baseball program in his career.

“Hal ended up with a .345 batting average and a .707 slugging percentage last season,” Gentry stated.

Gentry also went on to say that Bishop runs well.

“We have clocked Hal in the 60-yard dash at 6.9-seconds,” he said.  “There is no question that Hal will play a big role for us again this spring, both offensively and defensively.

As some colleges look to complete their 2015 recruiting classes, Bishop may be a player to take a look at as Fulton takes the field this spring.
