PBR Tennessee’s Unsigned Senior Games took place on Sunday at Rose Park in Nashville, and the event produced several solid performers who are still looking for a place to continue their education and baseball careers.  Christopher Johnson was one who stood out at the event.

Johnson is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound SS/RHP who showed good athleticism. The LaVergne High School prospect is a rangy shortstop with soft hands, fluid feet, and his throws to first base showed life with a top velocity of 86 mph, a mark that was the top infield velocity of the event.

Offensively, Johnson starts from a slightly open stance and uses a smooth load with a short stride and displays good balance. While his path to the ball tends to get a little long, he gets the barrel through the zone with quick hands and shows line drive ability with a gap to gap approach. Johnson is a quick twitch guy who posted an event best 6.97 60-yard dash.

On the mound, Johnson impressed as well, where his fastball topped at 85 mph with some arm side run, and he showed a sharp 73-75 mph slider while also mixing in a 74-76 mph changeup that displayed some arm-side run and sink.

Johnson has the arm strength to stay on the left-side of the infield and the versatility to play multiple positions at the next level.
