Position Ranking: 5
Scouting Report: (6/9/15, Top Prospect Games) The 6 foot 2, 185-pound prospect posted a 6.99 60 time. Defensively Sims had an 85 mph positon velocity across the infield with accuracy and good arm strength. Sims has soft hands, fluid footwork, and a quick exchange. Could slide to third base at the next level easily. Offensively from the right side of the plate, Sims had an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee with good bat speed in batting practice. Hits from an open setup with a leg kick and is a gap to gap type hitter. Shows a lot of potential and ability offensively and defensively. Still has room to add to his frame. Sims went 1-for-4 in game play with a single.  On the mound, 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect with athletic frame, uses long am action and works through a high-3/4 slot, high leg-kick delivery, quick arm, fastball sat 81-84 mph and touched 85 once with occasional slight arm-side run, curveball is solid with sharp 11/5 action at 69-72 mph and showed ability to throw it for strikes, shows confidence in 70-74 mph changeup with late sink and fade, lost some command in second inning of work walking two but finished allowing no hits with three strikeouts in solid mound performance.

Further Analysis: Sims possesses good athleticism and arm strength that will allow him to stay on the left side of the infield at the next level. He can handle both the shortstop and third base positions, and is also an interesting prospect on the mound with good upside and the potential to add significant velocity.
