Updated 2020 Rankings

Tim Kay
PBR Tennessee Director of Scouting

With the Christmas season approaching, it is time to release the updated 2020 state rankings!

This has been a long process in developing these rankings, including being out a lot in the fall, reaching out to a number of coaches and watching video on every single player in these rankings (and outside of these rankings) while compiling internal evaluations.

These rankings have been expanded to a top 70 and includes 31 players entering their first state ranking, led by # 11 overall OF/LHP Elijah Williams from Spring Hill.

Stay tuned for more ranking specific news stories featuring uncommitted players into the winter season!

Robert Hassell III OF / LHP / Independence, TN / 2020

Vanderbilt commit.  The left handed hitting OF shows all 5 tools w/ special feel for the barrel.  Projects to really hit w/ an advanced bat and feel for the strike zone/approach.  Also pitches, showing a FB up to 84 from the left side w/ quality off-speed offerings and feel for throwing strikes.

Gage Bradley RHP / OF / Rossview , TN / 2020

Vanderbilt commit.  The RHP shows a FB up to 89 w/ plus life.  Loose, quick arm suggests he is just scratching the surface of his velocity potential.  CB and CH project at least average, both showing flashes of plus action.  Projects to command.

Luke Bradshaw OF / RHP / Lebanon , TN / 2020

Tennessee commit.  Another 5 tool OF, Bradshaw shows the 2nd best pure hit tool in the class behind Hassell.  The left handed hitter keeps his barrel in the zone for a long time w/ feel to using all fields and developing power.  A plus runner, projects to stay in CF.

Blake Money RHP / 1B / Summit, TN / 2020

The 6'5' righty is the top uncommitted player in the state, showing the best velocity in the 2020 state class, touching 90.  Shows a physical, workhorse build w/ feel for the strike zone.  CB and CH both flash average.

Gehrig Ebel SS / RHP / Baylor , TN / 2020

Mississippi State commit.  Impressed in a 2 game look this fall, where he showed premium bat speed w/ plus arm strength.  Projects to hit for average and power w/ an idea of an approach.  Defensively, shows soft hands w/ the arm strength to make all the throws.
