Bohenek and Shriner Lead Centreville by Gonzaga

In Centreville’s 6-1 win over Gonzaga, junior Eric Bohenek had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4. Bohenek singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth and in the sixth, he broke the game open with a three-run home run to left center. Colby Shriner delivered a strong performance on the mound, surrendering one run on two hits over 4.2 innings with five strikeouts.

Junior Garrett Newsome (William & Mary) started on the mound for Gonzaga, allowing three hits, and one run with one strikeout and a walk over two innings pitched. Following Newsome, Will Sapp, Anthony Seiler, Noah Potholm, and Mike Casler all entered the game in relief for Gonzaga.

Nick Morabito, Will Carr, Newsome, and Bradley Carvajal collected the only hits for Gonzaga, with Morabito one-hopping the left center wall for a double. Greg Kopp had the lone RBI for Gonzaga with a SAC Fly to left field. Carr and Jack Quimby each had two stolen bases.

Centreville carried a 3-1 lead into the sixth inning when Bohenek delivered the big blow, launching a three-run home run, his fourth hit of the game. Centreville notched seven hits, as Gavin Collins, Lahe Calvo, and Connor Nguyen all contributed singles. Bohenek relieved Shriner in the fifth inning, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings to close out the game.
