Luke Paczewski commits to Bridgewater

Cosby corner infielder Luke Paczewski has committed to attend Bridgewater College in the fall of 2016. Paczewski is the first member of Cosby’s 2016 class to commit to play baseball in college. The Titans had a very strong 2015 season and are poised to be competitive again in 2016.

Paczewski hit from a slightly open stance that was athletic and balanced. He had a smooth leg kick stride that got on line and stayed balanced. He hit with his weight stacked on his back side. He had an aggressive approach to the ball and an Exit Velocity of 84 mph at February’s Pre-Season All-State Showcase. He had a level swing path and had good extension. His swing maintained good rhythm and should produce plenty of line drives with gap to gap power. In the field, Paczewski threw from a high three-quarters arm slot that had some accuracy and a Positional Velocity of 80 mph. He showed clean footwork that allowed him to play through the ball. His mechanics got stiff at times but he made clean exchanges.

When he arrives at Bridgewater, Paczewski should be able to help the Eagles immediately as a bat off of the bench or someone who can play either corner infield slot. He has the arm strength and athleticism to learn a corner outfield spot if he hits his way into the Eagle lineup. As his career progresses, Paczewski has the potential to develop into a solid corner infielder who will hit in the middle or top of the lineup and hit for a high average with a lot of doubles.

Congratulations Luke!
