Today we break down some of the data from our recent  Preseason All-State workout. See which pitches stood out in regards to Trackman data.

Ryan Osinski

Class of 2022 / RHP

Player Information

Gets above average VB with plus velo at 88.9, topping out at 91.1 with a low release and flat approach angle on his heater. Up to 2,427 rpm. Doesn't throw SL hard (averaged 74 mph)  but has good shape with heavy gyro spin and a frisbee-axis at 9:45. CH mirrors his FB axis-wise and gets more drop due to the velo-drop-off, but it gets a similar amount of IVB.

Anthony Roszko

Class of 2022 / RHP

Anthony Roszko - Gets a ton of ride on his heater with very little armside run. Very flat approach angle as he’s up to 91.2 sitting 90.4 mph. Had 21.4” of VB, with 23.6” at most. CB has elite raw-spin, and he optimizes it with plus-drop and some sweep at 73.5 mph. Had 2,975 rpm on average. Pronates the CH well and gets 12.4” of HB on it while shifting his axis clockwise 1 full minute from his fastball to create a different shape.

Gavin Brunsman

Class of 2022 / 3B

Player Information

Gavin Brunsman - Good combination of ride and velocity, with a very low release on the fastball. Up to 88.1 with 22.1” of VB max. Executed an elevated heater with a -3.8 approach angle, which should play at the top of the zone very well. Has low-spin, but the outlier release and feel for backspin make up for it and more. Throws a sweeping CB at 73.6, most of the spin is sidespin, though he does get some topspin on it and creates some depth. Has a ton of HB on the CH (21.4” on average) and completely reverses the spin-profile on the pitch from his FB to play off it well.

Caden Ward

Caden Ward - Sneaky fastball with a flat approach angle, averaged out at 82.1 mph with 17.2” of VB and a low release. Has a solid sweeper with 14.4” of HB at 69.2 mph and some drop; had feel for it and threw it in the zone. CH had some gyro spin and late movement as he was able to kill lift and create late depth while still getting some fade on it with 14” of HB.
