The Virginia Unsigned Senior Games took place on August 7th, 2018 at the Virginia Sports Complex. Over 50 uncommitted 2019 graduates performed in front of the PBR Scouting Staff as well as close to 20 colleges from around the region. Today we give you some of our quick-hitter thoughts on a few players who stood out at the event.

-Grafton SS/RHP Zach Wojnarowski became the first player to make his commitment from this event, verballing to VMI after tying for the top velocity on the mound at 88 while also showing the ability to be a true two-way player in college

-Maury RHP Ben Capehart sat 85-87 and touched 88 with a quick arm and body that offers a lot of projection as he continues to develop.

-Brentsville C Sam Beard had two hits during the game portion, showing barrel ability and a gap to gap approach. Also had pop times in the 2.02-2.07 range with some arm strength.

-Highland OF Luke Burner showed his normal ability to barrel the ball and produce line drives with all field, but also showed increased strength and the potential to drive the ball more.

-Grafton LHP Joey Majewicz showed an increase in velocity, sitting 83-85 and touching 86 while showing feel for two offspeed pitches.

-Falls Church SS/RHP Cameron Karicher showed positional versatility, working out at catcher, shortstop, and outfield as well as showing a fastball on the mound that touched 84.

-Tallwood 3B/RHP Mark Smith had a strong two-way day, posting the top exit velocity was 96 while also touching 86 on the mound. He had one of the stronger arms on the infield as well.

-Riverside RHP Gunner Canary was 80-83, touching 84, but with a loose quick arm that works and a very lanky frame that has a ton of projection, Canary is has a chance to see a significant velocity jump in the future and has a lot of upside.

-Southampton 3B Carter Johnson showed a strong arm in the infield and versatility to move to the outfield. He showed some power from the left side of the plate.

-Deep Creek C Aaron Morse showed strength at the plate and the ability to throw a sub-2.0 pop with some arm strength.

-Ocean Lakes SS Elias Negron showed some projection and some good twitchy actions, he is a prospect with a lot of upside.

-Cox SS South Trimble showed sub-7 speed and athleticism in the field as well as some strength at the plate.

-Tuscarora OF Jonathan Williams showed sub-7 speed of his own as well as a strong swing with gap to gap power.

Check back Monday as we hand out superlatives for some of the top performances at the Unsigned Senior Games.
