On Saturday, we were present for the first three games as part of the TCCAA Fall Showcase, hosted by Lipscomb University, as we had to leave early to prepare for an early morning trip to Memphis on Sunday.  Saturday brought together Chattanooga State, Dyersburg State, Roane State and Southwest Tennessee.  It is important to note that there was no pregame I/O before these games, so getting a read on overall defense was difficult.  Below is a look at Dyersburg State and the players that jumped out to us during their two games.

2-3, 2 2B

6-0 second basemen is the vocal leader of the team and worked quality at bats all day, drawing 5 walks.  Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, knee to knee stride and proper hand load.  Generates above average bat speed through the zone.  Understands how to use his frame to generate bat speed, keeps lower and upper halves in sync.  Knack for hard contact.  All fields approach w/ ability to hit hard line drives all over the field when right.  Pull power w/ projectable all fields power.  Vocal leader kept the team engaged and was vocal everywhere he played.  Defensively, profiles at 2B w/ solid hands, footwork, carry to target arm strength.
