Tuesday afternoon, nearly 50 players from all corners of DC, and Virginia, Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia for the Top Prospect Games East event. Today, we begin our detailed breakdown of the event with the catchers:

Sean Aronson C / RHP / Kellam, VA / 2022

Aronson is 6-2 with an athletic 190 pound frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, short smooth load mostly in place. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, very short and quick to the ball, uphill swing path, strength at contact with extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with the ability to work gap to gap, power present pull side with gap power to all fields, exit velocity was 93. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 74 and pop times 1.97-2.06. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Showed versatility working out in the infield as well. Ran a 7.63 60 yard dash.

Camden Bauswell C / RHP / Nansemond River , VA / 2024

Bauswell is 5-10 with an athletic 175 pound frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill swing path, showed a pull approach with some extra base power present to pull side, exit velocity was 83. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 75 and pop times 2.08-2.26.

Owen Frye C / OF / Forest Park , VA / 2022

Frye is 6-0 with an athletic 190 pound frame that has some strength present and projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a wider slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short load up and back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a primarily pull approach with some power present to pull side and the ability to work the middle of the field, exit velocity was 93. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 71 and pop times 2.08-2.20.

Jason Herndon C / 3B / Mechanicsville, VA / 2022

Herndon is 5-11 with an athletic 180 pound frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a wider balanced athletic stance, strides on line, loads down and back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, shorter to the ball, uphill swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a primarily gap to gap approach with some power present to pull side and gap power present in the middle of the field, exit velocity was 89. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 74 and pop times 2.04-2.20. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.60 60 yard dash.

Patrick Kelly C / OF / Langley, VA / 2023

Kelly is 6-4 with a lankier athletic 188 pound frame that has projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, uphill swing path with some strength at contact and some extension through the ball, showed a primarily pull approach with the ability to work gap to gap, power present to pull side with gap power in the middle of the field, exit velocity was 92. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 70 and pop times 2.04-2.15. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.45 60 yard dash.

Josh Morris C / 3B / Nansemond Suffolk, VA / 2022

Morris is 5-9 with an athletic 185 pound frame that has some strenght present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short smooth load down with a wrap. Hips rotate completely and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact, showed a good approach working gap to gap, gap power present in the middle of the field, exit velocity was 90. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity was 77 and pop times 1.95-2.06. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.67 60 yard dash.

Mark Wamhoff C / 2B / The Covenant School, VA / 2024

Wamhoff is 5-11 with a lanky 135 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a taller relaxed open stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load down to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill swing path with some strength at contact, showed a good approach working gap to gap, gap power potential in the middle of the field, exit velocity was 80. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 64 and pop times 2.12-2.29. Ran a 7.52 60 yard dash.
