In the second part of our Future Games: Team Mid-Atlantic series we are featuring the catchers. See how they stood out at the 2020 edition of the Future Games in the comments below.

Team Mid-Atlantic: Catchers

Henry Cooke C / 3B / Miller School, VA / 2022

Physical 6-foot-3 217-pound frame with athleticism. High end defender behind the plate with big arm strength and advanced receiving skills. Posted a 1.90-1.97 pop time range on his workout day with 82 mph arm strength and the biggest thing is he is not a "showcase" pop time guy. It is just as real in game. Throws have plenty of carry and can and have seen him throw baserunners out from his knees with backpicks from there as well. Shows the ability to hit for average as well as flashes power to the pull side. Had multiple line drive singles during the three game tournament. Cooke was hobbled a little bit by an ankle sprain so he had some down time in the dugout. During that time the staff got a chance to pick his brain a little bit about baseball and who he is and Cooke's personality and character really shined. Shortly after Future Games he committed to Virginia Tech.

Clark Driscoll C / 3B / Clover Hill , VA / 2022

Compact 5-foot-8, 170-pound frame. If you have never had a chance to watch Driscoll play, do yourself a favor and go watch. Driscoll is a ball of energy all over the field and is an exceptional teammate. He is a bit undersized, but doesn't play like it. Above average defender behind the plate and has a quick exchange and release with arm strength and accuracy on throws. More than capable defender at third and second with arm strength for the left side. At the plate Driscoll is a very consistent bat. Doubles power that flashes more at times and has the ability to hit for average. Have had the chance to see Driscoll versus good velo multiple times this summer and just like previous viewings the Future Games arms he faced, which generally ranged from 85-90, did not phase him at all. Combining Driscoll's ability to use the whole field and his plate discipline those two things make him a tough out. He is going to be a solid addition for some program at the next level and will be a contributor on the field and in the clubhouse.

Austin Younce C / OF / Greenbrier Christian, VA / 2022

Athletic 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame. Younce is an athletic defender behind the plate with above average arm strength and solid receiving skills. He is also a capable defender in the outfield, likely corner outfield at next level, with above average arm strength. Square athletic stance with a balance approach. Stays inside the ball well and shows carry to both gaps with power potential to the pull side. Had a double to deep left in the game versus the Carolinas. Two of the biggest attributes for Younce are his baseball IQ and work ethic. He has since committed to Virginia Commonwealth University.
