Coming in at No. 8 on our list of most viewed profiles is Battlefield High School’s Keagan McGinnis. McGinnis a 6-foot-5, 200 pound RHP who is committed to play at Virginia Tech.

McGinnis is currently ranked 9th in the Virginia Class of 2016 71st Nationally. As a prospect, McGinnis has a very high ceiling because of his frame and loose arm. He figures to at be a top end Division I pitcher. Depending on how he fills his frame out, he could develop into a professional prospect before he graduates high school.

Keagan Mcginnis Scouting Report

No. 8:  Keagan McGinnis 6-foot-5, 200 pound, RHP, 2016 (Virginia Tech)

McGinnis is a tall, 6-foot-5, lanky RHP with long limbs that give him a frame that is very projectable. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and does a very good job of keeping himself on line to the target. He gets full extension and finishes in an athletic position without falling off. His arm action is long and loose, and his ball is very heavy.  He is consistently 84-87 mph on the mound and has been up to 89 mph. He has showed good command of a good curveball, which runs anywhere between 12-6 and 11-5 with good late action, and was 71-73 mph. McGinnis also threw a change-up with good arm speed that had some late fade and should be an effective pitch for him. Across the board his command of all three pitches is outstanding.
