Scouting report on Fowler from the summer:Ryan Fowler

Fowler was the top base-stealer during the 2013 season in the Commonwealth among members of the class of 2015. Fowler displayed a line drive approach from a slightly open stance with a high hands load. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitter registered a 76 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Fowler demonstrated a soft glove hand and the ability to make plays on the move with an 81 mph arm across the diamond. Fowler flashed the ability to make throws from several arm angles and the strength to get a runner following a back handed sliding stop in the hole at shortstop.

Analysis:

Fowler will make a great super-utility guy in college who could eventually develop into a table setter at the plate. He has the ability to play both middle infield positions well and defensively could also excel in both corner outfield spots or handle centerfield if needed. This flexibility is invaluable with the roster limits that are currently imposed on college teams. As he develops, he has top of the line-up written all over him, using his speed and baserunning ability to get on base and take extra bases.
