Monday night was the opening night of VHSL play and I took in the Colgan Sharks and Woodbridge Vikings game at Woodbridge High School. Woodbridge would strike first with a Carter Newman sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third, but Colgan would respond with four unanswered runs over the next two innings. Senior catcher Brody Pickette (Shenandoah) had a big two-RBI single in the top of the fourth for Colgan that would take the lead to 3-1 and the Sharks would never look back. Connor Knox was magnificent in his first outing of the year, throwing a complete game. He scattered four hits, zero walks, and striking out eight along the way to send the #11 Colgan Sharks to their first win of the year.

Now for the scout blog. Here is some video and notes on seven players that stood out on Monday night.
