Grayson Bush SS/2B Monticello 2020

Bush has a solid athletic makeup at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Posted a solid 7.06 60 time on the day. Bush can really pick it defensively. Feet are active throughout cutting distance on plays when needed. Worked outside of the ball lining up throws pre-catch, solid glove presentation out front, and a quick clean centered exchange. Arm action is short and throws from a three-quarter arm slot at 82 mph across. Was comfortable throwing from any arm slot and was consistently accurate across. Shows some flow and rhythm in his swing that starts with a slightly wider athletic stance. Starts open and lands on line after a small leg lift and has a level path with a slightly uphill finish. Displayed a gap to gap approach with some strength in the swing. Exit velocity was 87 mph.

 

 

Preseason All State Session I 
Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Hits from an athletic setup that was slightly open. Small pickup to stride landing slightly closed. Showed some rhythm and looseness in the swing. Hands loaded back to a strong hitting position. Short to the ball with some uphill tilt to the swing and a high finish. Had nice balance and a quiet head throughout the swing. Gap to gap potential with an exit velocity of 86 mph. Showed well defensively. Active feet on approach and nice actions pre and post catch. Got outside the ball and allowed feet and glove to work through it with soft hands. Clean quick exchange to a short quick arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Was comfortable making a variety of plays in the infield with ease. Positional velocity was 76 mph. Ran Home-1st in 4.51.

 

 

Mid Atlantic Challenge 11/4/2018

Athletic projectable frame at 5-10, 155-pounds. Hits from a blaanced, slightly open set up at the plate. Short load with small leg kick to hitting position. Level swing path at the plate with nice extension through contact. Average balance and nice lower half usage. Sound action in the field. athletic feet and smooth defensive ability. Hands are clean and quick to release with a short arm action.

Underclass Games 6/20/18

 

 

Bush is 5-10 with a lankier athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance. Strides on line, smooth load back, has some rhythm to his swing, hips rotate completely with some explosion and some balance to his swing. Hands are short to the ball, barrel has some whip and gets good extension through ball, level to slightly uphill swing path, line drive swing that generates carry in gaps. Showed a good approach, working primarily gap to gap, exit velocity was 81. At short, quick feet, works around ball well and fields with a good wide base and soft hands. Plays through ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a free looser arm action, infield velocity was 79.
