Virginia Draft Preview

The 2015 Major League Draft takes place June 8-10. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.

Virginia has consistently produced high school prospects the last several years, but most have ended up dropping in the draft due to signability. The state doesn’t have a prospect on the level that Nathan Kirby, Connor Jones or J.B. Bukauskas were, but there are still some arms worth following, on top of a few interesting hitters. RHP Nic Enright (The Steward School, VA) is considered signable and has a nasty curveball while the rest of the crop could turn into high follows after three years of college.

Top Prospects

1. Nic Enright, RHP, The Steward School, VA
Enright broke out in the fall with a few strong outings at the end of the showcase season. He has a big, strong frame at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and has been up to 92 mph.
