Thursday, July 25th kicked off game action at the inaugural 2024 Senior Future Games at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia, after Wednesday's evening workout slots were rained out. Players from Virginia and DC combine with players from North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware to form Team Mid-Atlantic in this year's Senior Future Games. Below are Quick Hit highlights and notes from Thursday's game:
Quick Hits
Gavin Angelillo C / RHP / NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY, VA / 2025Has a strong physical 6-0, 200 pound frame. Fastball was 86-89, touching 90 twice, getting multiple swing and misses. Dropped slot on fastball a few times and was 84-85 from lower slot. Curveball was 74-76 and change-up was 78-80. Ran a 6.98 60 yard dash.

Brian Archer C / 1B / Steward , VA / 20256-1, 185 pound frame with a stronger lower half. Goes with this pitch on the outer half and drives it the other way off the top of the rightfield wall for a double, live exit velocity was 92 MPH.

JT Brown SS / 3B / MATOACA HIGH, VA / 2025Athletic 6-1 frame with a high leg kick and a quick, short compact swing. Ambushed this pitch up in the zone and hammered it for an RBI double, live exit velocity was 95.6 MPH.

Dillon O'Connor RHP / Miller School, VA / 2026O'Connor is a recent reclass to 2026 and has an imposing 6-4 frame. Shorter arm action from three-quarters slot. Fastball was 86-88 and he attacked hitters in the zone with it. Tight movement on a slider that was 78-79 and showed a change-up at 79-81.

Gage Strucko SS / RHP / Briar Woods, VA / 2025Strucko has an athletic frame and barrelled multiple balls in the game. He has a balanced set-up with high hands, hits ball where it is thrown and is a line drive hitter with carry in the gaps.

Will Tighe C / OF / Paul VI, VA / 2025Tighe is a barrel machine that destroys baseballs with consistency. Uses the entire field with a simple swing and shows power and strength to all fields. Exit velocities on the hits below were 98.5 MPH and 92.2 MPH, respectively.
