This Saturday, Prep Baseball Washington hosted the Seattle Fall ID and Seattle Freshman Free events at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington. Prep Baseball staff evaluated players in the 2027-2031 grad classes, with several strong performances seen throughout. 

Prep Baseball fall events serve as an indicator for scouts and recruiters heading into the next calendar year. The fall presents a unique time where players are in a rhythm from playing consistent baseball throughout the spring and summer. Standout performances can lead to invites to some of Prep Baseball's top events in 2027, including PNW Preseason All-State, Future Games, and PNW State Games.

Today, we release our Quick Hits, presenting scouting notes on standout performers from the events. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned in the coming days for all post-event coverage.

'30 OF Brayden Blair (Puyallup)
Arguably the most polished player at the Freshman Free event, Blair looked the part start to finish at Eastlake this weekend. A lean-framed 5'11 prospect, Blair carries plenty of room to add strength as the frame matures but works from an athletic base at the present. It remains to be seen whether he'll develop into more of a speed or power first prospect, but currently he moved with smooth, longer strides fit for a corner OF role. At the plate, Blair sets in a balanced, more upright stance. The lefty stays stacked on the back side with an upper half coil through his load and controlled aggression through the zone. Blair accelerates through contact with a lofted path and whippy-long two-handed finish. Blair peaked with a 93 MPH exit velocity and averaged 87 MPH, numbers that should only improve with time. Name to know.

'30 INF Ben Borden (Bishop Blanchet)
A clear middle infield profile moving forward, Borden put together a well-rounded showing at Freshman Free. The medium-framed righthander ran a 7.49 60 with some lateral quickness shown defensively as well. The hands were soft and fluid at field point with a sound fundamental base at shortstop. At the dish, Borden carries a gradual hovering leg lift closing a slightly open setup. The swing operation was repeatable with a steeper path and a controlled two-handed finish. The Bishop Blanchet freshman blasted balls up to 335 feet and 91.4 MPH in strong BP rounds. 

'28 RHP/INF Eli Grant (Tahoma)
The best bullpen showing of the day, Grant carries a ton of arm talent and some two-way ability as he enters his upperclass years. A sturdily-built 6'3 200 pounder, Grant was up to 87.6 MPH with the fastball in this look. The heater was paired with a firm low 80's CH and a high spin SL that peaked north of 2600 RPM. Grant's mechanical operation features some rawness but plenty of athleticism and could see even further jumps down the line. A 7.2 runner in the 60, he made every play defensively with 83 MPH throws across the dirt. The long levers result in some easy pop from the right side of the plate, peaking with a 96.6 MPH exit velocity as well. Impressive showing.

'30 LHP/OF Braven Hodl (Liberty)
Seen earlier this year at the Spokane Summer ID, Hodl's physicality stands out in a big way and carries onto the mound in particular. Featuring a lower-spin three pitch mix, Hodl worked the fastball up to 81.6 MPH in this look, generating some sink from a 3/4 slot release. The arm works through a low swing into some speed out front with a loose gloveside follow. Offensively, Hodl had more of a flat path/line drive approach, peaking with a 312 foot batted ball distance and exit velocity near 90 MPH. Hodl also ran a 7.2 60 time earlier in the summer with speed translating to the outfield well. Intriguing two-way prospect.

'28 OF Chase Hollowell (Tahoma)
A more compact-framed righty with some quickness, Hollowell features an interesting blend of tools. He began his afternoon with a 7.05 60 yard dash time, showcasing a quicker burst out of the gate. The outfield defense was clean with throws up to 83 MPH. Offensively, Hollowell sets with loose hands and an open lower half pre-pitch. The hands carry speed through the zone with a quicker rotation and flat path. Hollowell peaked with a 94.3 MPH exit velocity with a pull-oriented approach. 

'29 INF/RHP LeBron Jones (Eastlake)
Jones has made some noise as a young prospect and flashed at times in his first Prep Baseball Showcase. The physicality stands out in a major way off the jump, as Jones looks every bit of his listed 6'4, 215. The bat is the carrying tool to this point. Jones sets with a wider base, keeping the hands quiet as he works through his load and turn through the zone. When the A swing gets off, the ball jumps off the bat, particularly to the big part of the field. Jones peaked with a 95.3 MPH exit velocity and 350 foot batted ball distance. The 1B only type defensively showed some quality hands and worked throws up to 80 MPH across the dirt, to go alongside an upper 70's fastball on the mound. Young player to keep an eye on.

'28 INF Nick Jones (Puyallup)
We saw Jones several times as an underclassman on Puyallup's varsity squad, and he impressed in his first showcase this weekend. Listed 6'2 185, Jones ran a 6.95 60 yard dash to kick off his event. The glove can play both in the infield and outfield, with enough skill for a corner role at this point. Jones also led the event with throws up to 87 MPH from the outfield. The BP took some time to settle in, but once he did Jones did some real damage to the pull side. The lower half is clean with a hovering toe-tap load closing the base at impact, with quick hands firing with acceleration through contact. Jones blasted balls up to 102 MPH and 381 feet to lead the day metrically. Impressive showing for a player who could be poised for a breakout 2027.

'28 C Mason Montgomery (Bellarmine Prep)
Montgomery improved his metrics virtually across the board from another showcase this winter in a great performance. The junior backstop was quick and on the money with his throws, with a best pop time of 1.90 seconds to begin his day. At the plate the lefty stick peaked with a 95.6 MPH exit velocity, with extremely consistent line drive contact and feel for the barrel. Montgomery sets with higher hands and his weight over a strong rear side, working through a lower-effort swing with a bat that stays through the zone well. 

'30 INF Keegan Seiber (Kennedy Catholic)
The offensive upside and physicality are really exciting to dream on here, and Seiber put on a show in his BP rounds at Freshman Free. A 6'0 freshman with lean strength, Seiber peppered balls to the pull side consistently, peaking with a 95.8 MPH exit velocity and 359 foot batted ball distance. Setting with a bend in his knees, Seiber stays strong in the lower half with a lofted path and a firm front side at impact with aggressive turns through the zone. The BP was exceptional and multiple balls left the yard to RF. A 7.6 runner currently, Seiber runs with an athletic gait and should gain speed as he continues to mature, and showed sound defensive actions on the infield as well.

'28 INF/RHP Grey Walker (Mount Rainier)
Walker displayed quality two-way ability at Eastlake. He kicked things off with a 6.98 60 yard dash time, nearly the best of the day. At the dish, he peaked north of 90 MPH with his exit velocity, working short to long with a line drive approach. Walker sets with a relaxed, more narrow stance, working into a near arm bar in his load into a longer turn. On the mound, Walker showcased a four pitch mix, working the fastball up to 83 MPH and killing spin well on the CH. Intriguing showing.
