Workout Recap

‘22 C/INF Mason Utech (Lakeridge) showed well both at C and SS during the day for his defensive workouts. Continues to put his clean, left-handed stroke on display during BP and we’re excited to see how his balanced skill-set will play out in game.

'22 C Tyler Howard (Skyview) was impressively consistent throughout BP and put up a 90 mph exit velo off the tee. Continues to be right around a 2.00 pop time on his throws down to 2nd and pairs that arm strength with quality receiving skills

'23 C/RHP Bryce Johnson (Eastlake) has the look of a young, developing slugger at the plate who will likely tap into more power shortly. He will be on the bump today (Sunday) against Arizona and we’re highly anticipating his appearance on a stage like this.

‘22 Mason Spellecy (Hood River Valley, OR) showed off his body control and arm strength at 3rd during the defensive workout. Then he took a strong round of BP and continuing to show intriguing power to his pull-side gap. He’ll also get the ball in Game 2 on Monday against Nevada.

‘22 Grant Cunningham (Seattle Prep, WA) is really coming on strong this summer looks like he’s ready to impact the game in a lot of ways. The approach in BP continues to be easy/relased with a low effort line drive stroke. Defensively he fits at a corner spot and will also show what he can do on the mound, where we’ve seen him up to 84-86.

‘23 Sebastian David (Lakeside, WA) is on the younger side for this event but that didn’t stop him from putting up impressive numbers amongst the competition. He was mentioned as a Top 25 ‘Name to Know’ by National Crosschecker, Shooter Hunt after the workout. The athleticism, power and size continues to develop and he looks poised for a big showing in game action

22 Julius Hooks (Tahoma, WA) was his usual athletic, twitchy self out there on the field yesterday. His infield work featured the same quickness and agility we’re used to seeing and he’s softened up the actions with his glove hand a bit. Offensively he’ll be a table setter with his contact ability and simple approach.

‘22 Will Woodward (Eastlake, WA) has one of the more physically imposing frames down here and has a significant presence once he steps into the box. He had loud contact throughout BP and showed impressive barrel accuracy in his rounds. Another 2-way prospect, he’ll be on the mound in our first game of action.

OF/RHP Blaise Heher (Lake Oswego, OR) had a solid performance when we saw him in mid-June and he delivered again in the Future Games workout. His BP was especially impressive as he left the yard on multiple swings while using a wood bat. He’ll see a ton of time in the OF over game action and should be a reliable presence out there for the squad.

Jordan Hockett (Mt. Spokane, WA) continues to have a strong showing this summer with his bat. His frame is noticeably athletic with a proportional build between his upper and lower half. The bat has easy quickness to the swing and there’s exciting power in his swing.

‘23 OF/LHP Dylan Osborne (Union, WA) is an exciting, young 2-way prospect who does everything. His run and throw ability plays well with his barrel control and contact type approach, giving him a strong profile for the OF. Keep an eye on Game 1 tonight against Arizona as Osborne takes the mound to get things kick off for us.

'23 RHP/OF J. Noble Meyer (Jesuit, OR) carries some of the most upside of any player on the roster. His long, lean frame is full of projection and he’s continuing to grow into his body. Offensively the swing has easy lift and leverage. The upside on the mound will be exciting to see as we get into game action tomorrow.

‘23 RHP Carter Seely (Selah, WA) showed off his advanced strength and bat speed during BP. Although he’ll mostly focus on pitching for this event, there’s a lot to like about the bat and he can really do some damage at the plate. His size/strength combo fits well at corner INF and he’ll be on the mound tomorrow to show what he can do.
