Dan Jurik
Scouting Director - Pacific Northwest

The 2019 spring high school season in Washington generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Washington. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

Corbin Carroll

Corbin Carroll’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Lakeside, has earned him the 2019 Prep Baseball Report Washington Player of the Year honors. Carroll entered the season as one of the premier HS talents in the entire country. His track record of success in highly competitive, national events has been well documented for some time now and his production didn’t slow down one bit this spring. Despite seeing a high volume of walks this year at the plate, Carroll made the most of his opportunities to swing the bat and put up eye popping offensive numbers. The production, coupled with his physical tools vaulted him into the 1st round of the MLB Draft as he was picked 16th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Carroll has been selected amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the country this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States. The dedication and coverage allow Prep Baseball Report a credible way to identify the top athletes each year.
