This winter, Prep Baseball Washington is reflecting upon their showcase circuit and highlighting standout performers. In addition to the weekly Uncommitted Spotlights, focusing on players that attended a Prep Baseball ID event, Prep Baseball also begins our State Games Spotlight series, specifically looking at players that participated in this year's Pacific Northwest State Games. These spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.

Today, we spotlight 2026 RHP Jake McCall. The West Seattle High School product came off a solid early 2024, including a strong bullpen showing at the Seattle Preseasion ID - Session II. McCall also spun twelve innings in the spring for the 3A state champion West Seattle squad. The 5'11, 180 pound righty features a lower slot, slight cross firing action to generate whiffs consistently.

Stuff-wise, McCall features some intruiging tools. The fastball has already topped out at 85.1 MPH and flashed spin rates north of 2200 RPM, giving the offering some late life. McCall's breaking ball is the clear best pitch currently, a wipeout sweeping slider in the low 70's. The pitch averages north of 2500 RPM and topped out at 2750 RPM at the PNW State Games. In-game, the righty showed an occasional changeup as his third offering. The uncommitted junior will certainly be an arm for college coaches to keep an eye on moving forward.
