Washington Fall Five: 2027 Picks To Click

Dylan Grenz
Assistant Scouting Director

As we conclude the Fall showcase season, Prep Baseball Washington is starting a new series of player spotlights. Our "Fall Five" series focuses on highlighting five names that share commonalities, whether it be players we circle as picks to click, uncommitted names, or other key prospect information.

Today, we begin our new series by highlighting five seniors across the state that we believe could be poised for a huge 2027.

Be sure to check back over the coming weeks as we release other "Fall Five" spotlights.

1. Ben Cunningham

Position: RHP
School: Seattle Prep
Commitment: Seattle University
👤 Profile: Ben Cunningham

Scout Notes 📝

From 8/19/26... "Cunningham was great at PNW State Games, working the fastball up to 88 MPH with a SL/CH offspeed pairing. The 6'3 righthander then held his own at NW Scout Games, striking out a pair of top-end hitters in two innings of work. An uncommitted prospect to this point, Cunningham also ran a 6.63 60 and posted triple digit exit velocities at the plate at State Games. He was a key to Seattle Prep's success this spring and will be a vital piece next year, and he just seems to keep getting better."

Key Showcase Metrics📊

  • Fastball: 86-87 mph, T87.7 mph
  • Slider: 70-74 mph, 2450+ rpm
  • Changeup: 77-78 mph

2. Wes Manger

Position: INF
School: Ballard
Commitment: Bellevue College
👤 Profile: Wes Manger

Scout Notes 📝

From 8/7/26... "Manger continued his strong 2026 at PNW State Games, where he continued to make advancements metrically and looked the part in-game as well. An athletic 6'1 righthander, Manger's showcases have been highlighted by exit velocities up to 102.6 MPH and a 6.96 run time in the 60. He was amongst Ballard's top hitters this spring, slashing .339/.500/.509 near the top of the lineup, and should be poised for a big senior year as one of their core returners into 2027."

Key Showcase Metrics📊

  • Exit Velocity: 102.6 mph
  • 60 Yard Dash Time: 6.96 seconds
  • INF Velocity: 82 mph

3. Shaun Sanoy

Position: OF
School: Sumner
Commitment: Edmonds Community College
👤 Profile: Shaun Sanoy

Scout Notes 📝

From 8/19/26... "At PNW State Games, Sanoy flashed real upside and ability all week long. The long strider ran a 6.70 60-yard dash, and carried a heavy, accurate barrel in BP. Sanoy worked the gaps with a peak EV of 98.7 MPH and balls hit up to 358 feet. In-game, he was on base multiple times, jumping on pitches to hit early in counts to find success. Despite limited varsity action in on of the best HS programs in the state, Sanoy could be a real breakout candidate and is a rising name in our rankings to follow."

Key Showcase Metrics📊

  • Exit Velocity: 98.7 mph
  • 60 Yard Dash Time: 6.70 seconds
  • Outfield Velocity: 82 mph

4. Ivan Rudich

Position: RHP
School: West Seattle
Commitment: Uncommitted
👤 Profile: Ivan Rudich

Scout Notes 📝

From 8/13/26... "Rudich offers intriguing ability seen multiple times this year, first during the high school season and again recently at PNW Top Propsect Games. A wiry-athletic 6'2 arm, Rudich works with a smooth mechanical foundation down the mound with a loose, whippy arm path into release. The fastball has been up to 84 MPH, and with a productive offseason adding strength could easily make another jump as he heads into his senior year. Rudich relies primarily on a sweeping slider as his best secondary pitch, with a mid-70's CH with some fading action thrown occasionally as well."

Key Showcase Metrics📊

  • Fastball: 82-84 mph, T84.3 mph
  • Slider: 70-73 mph
  • Changeup: 75 mph

5. Brycen Calderon

Position: INF
School: Tri-Cities Prep
Commitment: Whitworth University
👤 Profile: Brycen Calderon

Scout Notes 📝

From 8/13/26... "A player who always seems to be at his best in-game, Calderon had a well-rounded look at PNW Top Prospect Games after an exceptional spring season. A compact-framed righty with a middle INF profile, Calderon moves with some quickness and range defensively. The bat is more contact over power to this point, working exit velocities into the low 90's during BP and reaching base multiple times in-game. Calderon was First Team All-Prep Baseball for the high school season in Washington after slashing .457/.557/.587 for the Jaguars, who finished the year 26-3 as one of the dominant programs in the eastern part of the state. Calderon should be amongst the best players in the 2A and below divisions into his senior year in 2027."

Key Showcase Metrics📊

  • Exit Velocity: 92.4 mph
  • Batted Ball Distance: 336 feet
  • 60 Yard Dash Time: 7.42 seconds
