Throughout the West Virginia high school baseball regular season we will be posting a Power 5 in each classification. Updates will be made for Class AAA on Mondays, AA on Tuesdays and A on Wednesdays. Check back frequently at PBR West Virginia to follow team and individual results from the previous week. Today we take a a look at our week 6 A top 5.

CHARLESTON CATHOLIC

PBR Ranked Players:

1. Brandon Combs, 3B/RHP, #9 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Transylvania recruit

Summary:

Charleston Catholic holds on to number one with a 3-1 week. The loss came to this week's new No. 4 Ravenswood by a 9-3 score. A number of players posted gaudy offensive numbers in multiple non-competitive games. Regardless of the level of competition Jacob Hufford should be acknowledged for an absurd line of 13-for-14, 9 R, 5 RBI, 2 BB.

WILLIAMSTOWN                            

PBR Ranked Players:

1. Mason Adkins, 2B/OF, #12 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Western Carolina recruit

Summary:

Williamstown moves up to No. 2 following a 2-1 week. The Yellowjackets now sit at 20-4-1 on the season. Individual statistics were not available.

WHEELING CENTRAL

PBR Ranked Players:

1. Chris Furka, 3B/SS, #44 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Salem International recruit

2. Bryan Courts, SS/C, #50 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Wheeling Jesuit recruit

Summary:

Wheeling Central also climbs one spot to No. 3. Thee Maroon Knights registered a 2-1 week to push their season mark to 12-3-1. Individual statistics were not available.

RAVENSWOOD

PBR Ranked Players:

1. Chase Swain, SS/RHP, #7 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Glenville State recruit

Summary:

Ravenswood jumps from out of the rankings into the No. 4 slot on the strength of a 6-0 week which included a convincing win over number one Charleston Catholic. The Red Devil offense was led by Stephen Dawson who went 10-for-16, scored nine times and drove in seven. Teammate Jake Green registered an equally impressive line of 9-for-14, 10 R, 9 RBI. Chase Swain went yard three times in the six games. 

MOOREFIELD

PBR Ranked Players:

1. None

Summary:

Moorefield hangs onto the No. 5 spot by going 1-1 this week. Lane Ours hit safely in five of seven at bats and drove in three.
