Scouting Report

10/08/17 Initiates swing from neutral set up with aggressive stride and weight shift while staying square. Works well away from hands in achieving considerable separation. Hands are quick and direct to baseball. Hips are quick with an aggressive turn demonstrated. There is subtle top half drift. Overall mechanics are sound an actions are athletic. Benefit would be gained from avoiding top half drift and staying behind baseball with leverage.

Defensively, speed and athleticism are obvious in OF. Petitt makes decisive reads and takes direct angles with commitment to getting behind baseball.. He stays in line and follows throws with accurate arm. There is confidence and aggression in attacking and playing through ball on ground.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Loading sequence is fluid. Swings the bat with intent. Very impressive bat speed and strength through the zone. Consistently produced line drives with backspin in batting practice. In the outfield he has athleticism to his actions. Shows feel for the position. Arm strength is above average for his age and throws were on target.
