Senior Spotlight: 2B Austin Luther (Parkersburg Catholic)

Luther NLIAustin Luther helped lead the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders to a sectional title in 2013. Along the way he hit .337 with 36 runs scored, 30 RBI and nine doubles.

The Crusaders will return most of their roster in 2014 for another run at the postseason. Lost to graduation is infielder Mitch Davis. He will be tough to replace having hit .495 with 32 RBI and 61 runs scored. Davis also stole 22 bases in 24 attempts and is now applying his craft in college at West Virginia Tech.

Luther, ranked No. 45 in the WV Class of 2014, is a career .345 hitter at Parkersburg Catholic. He needs just 19 hits in his senior season to reach 100 career hits. The 6-foot, 155-pound middle infielder will be continuing his playing career following high school. Luther recently signed his National Letter of Intent to play his college baseball at Wheeling Jesuit University.
