Review of the Fall Program: The Middle Infielders

The Fall College Prospect Program wrapped up an 11 college, six weekend tour through Pennsylvania and West Virginia on September 29 at Alderson Broaddus University. Today we look at the top West Virginia middle infielders that showcased their abilities during the course of the fall program.

Top Prospects:

1. SS/2B Jimmy Galusky (Preston HS, Class of 2014) is a 6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect that was a AAA All-State 1st Team selection in 2013. He hit .519 with eight home runs, 24 doubles, 32 RBI and had a school record 54 hits this past spring. Galusky flashed athletic actions in the middle infield and one of the top infield arms at 83 mph across the diamond. The uncommitted senior has very good range and exhibited above average abilities at 3B as well during action at Alderson Broaddus University. Galusky showcased a solid 86 mph bat exit velocity and went 1-for-4 at the plate in game action, while squaring the baseball in two other at bats.

Tristan Thompson2. SS/RHP Tristan Thompson (Chapmanville Regional HS, Class of 2015) showcased well in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter utilized a lift and replace stride foot out of a square stance to barrel the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Thompson has excellent rhythm to his swing and the ball jumps of his barrel to all fields. The middle infielder also displayed a soft glove hand and the ability to play through the baseball with throws of 74 mph across the diamond. Thompson topped at 79 mph out of a high 3/4 arm slot with an overhead rocker delivery during his time on the mound. He worked a 1-2-3 inning at Thiel College and flashed a 70 mph 11/5 breaking curveball with tight rotation.
