Shenandoah Valley Showcase Spotlight: RHP Logan Menear

By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting

Logan Menear2015 RHP Logan Menear made nine appearances for Preston HS this past spring with seven starts. The uncommitted senior finished his junior season with a 2-2 record with 22 strikeouts in 27.1 innings of work. Menear sits 75-77 out of a high 3/4 arm slot. His best pitch is his 67 mph curveball that shows sharp 12/6 action. The righty also displayed a developing 68 mph changeup during the course of his bullpen session at the Shenandoah Valley College Prospect Showcase recently.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder will likely be the staff ace at Preston next spring. Menear logged the 3rd highest number of innings on the Knights' staff this past spring with those ahead of him graduating. The continued development of his changeup and added arm strength will be keys to Menear's continued development as he looks to apply his craft at the next level.
