Unsigned Senior Spotlight: OF Andrew Zban
June 21, 2014

WV Director of Scouting
Andrew Zban (Huntington) does not currently appear in the WV Class of 2015 player rankings, but that will change. Following his strong showing at the PA Top Prospect Games on June 17 and 18 Zban will certainly make an appearance later this month when the rankings are revised.
Over the course of the two day event Zban impressed in every facet of the game. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitter showed athletic actions in the outfield with good feet (6.97 60-yard dash) and the top OF arm at the event (91 mph). Zban made a number of solid plays defensively during the two games his team played including a catch he made in foul territory in the bullpen in right field.
Zban hits from a high hands load out of a slightly open stance. He has a very fluid swing with a flat swing plane. The lefty displayed the ability to use all fields and power potential to both gaps. Zban went 2-for-6 in game play with both hits being to the opposite field.
His size, foot speed, arm strength and athleticism will make Zban one of the more highly recruited outfielders in West Virginia's senior class leading into the early signing period in November.
