The Wyoming Prospect ID took place on Sunday April, 15th in Casper, Wyoming at Mike Lansing Field.  30 prospects from around the state of Wyoming showcased their skills in a pro-style work out for the PBR Wyoming Staff.  Click Here for a complete PDF of the state from this event.
Over the next several days, Prep Baseball Report Wyoming will break down each player by position.  We began our look at the Wyoming Prospect ID with the catching position, outfield position and now we continue with the corner infield position.
Corner Infield Analysis:

Daultyn Rux RHP / 3B / Kelly Walsh, WY / 2019

6-foot-0, 160-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.25 60. Stands balanced at the plate with a long stride on the pitch.  Swing path is flat and the barrel stays in the zone.  Strong weight transfer with good power to the gaps.  Exit velocity was 79 mph.  In the field he looks natural and athletic at 3rd.  He has quick feet and a fast glove to hand transfer.  Arm is short from a high ¾ slot and throws were 74 mph with accuracy.  On the mound he drops and drives from balance.  Arm drops to a ¾ slot at times creating an 80 mph fastball with late run.  Arm stays consistent on the off speed and he featured a 65-66 mph curve with 11/5 break and a 64-65 mph change with late down movement.

 

 

 

Corbin Kirk LHP / 1B / Kelly Walsh, WY / 2019

6-foot-1, 195-pound left hand hitting 1B/LHP who ran a 7.80 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a slow load on the pitch.  Good lower leg drive on the swing.  Hands come through the zone and create good whip.  Exit velocity was 92 MPH.   Showed good power hitting several balls off the fence in the live round. In the field he moves well at first base with good feet around the bag.  Arm was 71 across the diamond. On the mound, threw from a high ¾ arm angle, short arm action, and easy effort. Landed in line, finished mostly square, occasionally open. Arm is over the top with good extension out front.  Will benefit from a stronger leg drive as he develops.  Fastball was 81 mph with arm side run.  Curve was 69-70 with tight spin and late break in the zone.  He finished with a 72-74 mph change with late sink.

 

 

 

Ryan Keith LHP / 1B / Natrona County High School, WY / 2020

5-foot-9, 170-pound left hand hitting 1B/LHP who ran a 7.87 60. Athletic lefty at the plate, uses a big stride to launch his swing.  Swing is uphill with good extension out front at contact.  Exit velocity was 81 mph with good control to left field.  Move well in the field and showed good glove work.  He showed athletic feet and a quick glove to hand transfer.  Arm was 70 mph across the diamond.  Uses a bog rocker step on the mound and drops and drives to the plate from balance. Lands on a stiff front side and throws from an over the top slot.  Fastball was 73-75 mph with late run.  He added a 62-65 mph curve and a 67-68 mph change with near fastball arm speed.

 

 

 

Garrett Oswald 1B / LHP / East High School, WY / 2020

6-foot-2, 185-pound left hand hitting 1B/LHP who ran an 8.25 60. Lefty hitter at the plate stands balanced with a short stride and small load.  Weight fires through the zone and swing path is flat.  Cuts swing off a bit on the follow through.  Exit velocity was 74 mph.  In the field he showed good athletic actions and excellent feet around the bag.  Arm is loose and from a high ¾ arm slot.  Throws were accurate and 71 mph.  On the mound he has a simple compact motion.  He drives hard to the plate from balance and stays in-line through the pitch.  Arm is over the top and fastball sat 74-76 mph.  He added a 61-62 mph curve with tight spin and late break.  He finished his session with a 62-64 mph change with late down movement.

 

 

 

Lane Fanto 3B / SS / Kelly Walsh High School, WY / 2019

5-foot-10, 165-pound right hand hitting 3B/SS who ran a 7.09 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a slow load on the pitch.  Good lower leg drive on the swing.  Hands come through the zone on an uphill path.  Front half collapses at impact. Exit velocity was 77 mph.   In the field he showed good athletic actions and instincts.  He has soft hands and a good glove to hand transfer.  Feet stay under him with an accurate arm that was 73 mph.

 

 

 

Ryan Fisher 3B / RHP / Evanston High School, WY / 2019

5-foot-11, 180-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.60 60. At the plate he hits from a wide stand with a high leg trigger.  Lower half can be stiff through the zone.  Swing is uphill and the barrel stays in the zone for a long period of time.  Good pull side power.  Exit velocity was 83 mph.  In the field he showed good athletic actions and attacked the ball.  Arm was high ¾ with a quick release.  Arm was 68 mph. Smooth mechanics on the mound.  Balance with a toe point and then falls to the plate.  Arm is over the top and maintains arm speed on all three pitches.  Fastball was 75 mph with location down.  He added a 61-63 mph curve with 11/5 break and a 66-67 mph change that stayed straight.

 

 

 

Stephen Lovato 1B / RHP / Kelly Walsh High School, WY / 2019

5-foot-11, 155-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran a 7.70 60. At the plate he hits from a slightly crouched stance.  Big load on the pitch with a strong weight transfer.  Swing path is uphill and he hits off a firm front side. Exit velocity was 76 mph.  In the filed he attacks the ball well.  He showed athletic feet and a long over the top arm slot.  Throws were 63 mph across the diamond.  On the mound he gets to balanced and falls to the plate.  Will benefit from a stronger lower leg drive.  Delivery is from a high ¾ arm slot.  Fastball was 66 mph with good location in and out.  He added a 59-60 mph Curve with sweeping 11/5 break and a 50-51 mph Change to finish his session.

 

 

 

Ethan Jones 1B / RHP / Natrona County High School, WY / 2021

6-foot-3, 200-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran an 8.50 60.  The big freshman stands tall at the plate with a short stride and slow load.  Weight pushed through to his front side and swing path is flat through the zone.  73 mph exit velocity should go up as he grows into his body.  Defensively he covers good ground and is solid around the bag.  Arm was 60 mph with accuracy.  On the mound, motion is smooth with a good balance and then fall to the plate.  As he gets stronger, look for his lower half to drive more to the plate.  Fastball was 64 mph and he added a 57-58 mph curve and a 56-58 mph change to round out his showcase.
