Kozicki has the ability to spin and manipulate the ball better than most in his class. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Vauxhall Academy product has one of the best breaking balls on the West Coast because of that ability. He can spin his curveball north of 2700 rpm with over 17 inches of vertical depth and 13+ inches of horizontal break. The two-plane break allows Kozicki to get both OZ chase in IZ swing & miss. The fastball sits in the 82-84 mph range and works well with the changeup, at 71-74 mph, as he does a good job killing spin and velocity. The arm is loose from an over the top slot and he does well getting extension down the mound. The projection is there for Kozicki, and the uncommitted 2025 will be looking to have an immediate impact once his junior year kicks off.

Hudson showed well at the Calgary Future Games, having one of the more impressive bullpens of the event. Kozicki’s strong athletic frame (6-foot-1, 185-pounds) and smooth delivery helped him stand out amongst the pitching field. His fastball sat 83-84 topping at 85 mph with a changeup that tunneled well off his fastball and which he located well at 76-77 mph. Hudson’s curveball (73 -74 mph) has good action, high spin, and shows the ability to keep the ball down in the zone while effectively using both sides of the plate. He shows confidence and poise when on the mound and has a good feel for all three of his offerings. The uncommitted 2025 is an arm we’ll have our eye on as the summer season continues.
