At 6-foot-4, 180 pounds, Caldwell came armed with a heavy fastball as he was tied for the hardest pitch of the event at 84 mph. Caldwell has a large frame that could easily add more size to it in order to fill out his body and gain strength. Jared’s arm action was long but he was able to get downward plane on his ball due to good timing and his height. Caldwell had good feel for his changeup which showed good depth and also spun a tight slider that will improve with further repetition and intent. Overall a very intriguing follow with a very high upside.
