Yusypchuk had one of the better performances on the mound at the Best of the West for the Okotoks Dawgs going the distance and only allowing one run through 7 innings. He attacked early and often with the FB on the outside part of the plate while getting swing and miss on the CB. The Missouri State commit was cruising through most of the game getting soft contact while working quick and efficiently throughout the game. Impressive overall outing from the Dawgs right-hander and one of the better ‘24 arms in the country.

2024 RHP Michael Yusypchuk (Missouri St. commit) was one of the most polished arms we saw at the Dawgs Scout Day. Stands out on the mound with a big, proportionate frame at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. Live, clean arm action and effortless, repeatable delivery. Quality four-pitch mix with high-spin on all his pitches. Fastball sat 87-89mph (2300+) along with a curveball at 77-78mph (2500+), slider at 79-81 (2400+) and changeup at 80-81 with fade and good horizontal break. Has feel for all his pitches and the strike zone. One of the better 2024 arms in the country.

We got our second 2022 look at Yusypchuk this past week and there’s no doubt he’s one of the best young arms in Alberta. Athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pounds and moves well on the mound with clean mechanics and delivery. Fastball sat 83-84 this time out and he was able to locate to both sides of the plate. Curveball had some late bite at 72-74 and he also worked with a changeup at 74-75. A good overall showing at the Jr. Future Games this past summer as a two-way prospect.

2024 Michael Yusypchuk, an Alberta native, was one of the more fundamentally sound players we saw in Georgia. The 6-foot-1, 155-pounder impressed on the mound, the left-side of the diamond and with the bat. He sat 81-83, topping out at 84 and could spin the curve. The right-handed hitter makes hard contact and gets on plane at the plate. Defensively, his athleticism and arm strength plays on the left-side. He does a lot of things right and the upside he showed us on the mound really stood out to the staff. A must follow for all college coaches.
